Workspace settings

Set the model, reasoning effort, and second opinion that every new session in your organization starts on.

Workspace settings hold the defaults new sessions open on, set once for the whole organization. Open the user menu and choose Workspace settings. The menu item appears for admins; every setting in it is an admin's to change.

Four settings sit in the dialog, and a fifth appears once Ask the VP is on. In each list, the entry marked "(Recommended)" is what the organization gets until an admin picks something else.

Inference provider

The first setting chooses who processes your organization's model requests. It also decides which models the Default model list offers. See Model provider.

Default model

Default model sets the model a new session opens on. Anyone can switch models inside their own session with /model, so this is the starting point rather than a restriction. Model and effort covers what each model is good for.

Pick a default that offers auto permission mode, which is Fable and Opus. With any other default, new sessions open in bypass mode instead, where nothing prompts before the terminal acts, and the dialog says so under the list. See Permission modes.

Default reasoning effort

Default reasoning effort offers three levels: High, for the best speed balance and quick turnaround; Extra high, for deeper reasoning on heavy modeling; and Max, for the most complex analysis. The deeper levels take longer to respond.

The recommended level follows the default model, so leaving it alone is the choice that tracks the model you picked. Anyone can change effort inside their own session with /effort, including Ultra, which stays a per-session choice.

Ask the VP

Ask the VP decides whether the terminal can consult a senior reviewer model about its own work mid-task: before committing to an approach, when it's stuck, and before finalizing significant work. It's on until an admin clears the checkbox.

With it on, a second list sets which model reviews: Fable, Opus, or Sonnet. A session can turn the consultations off for itself with /ask-vp off.

When a change takes effect

Save applies the change to sessions opened from then on. Sessions already running keep the settings they started with, so open a new session to pick up a change.
